Dr. Melissa Marino, DMD
“Everyone deserves to have a beautiful and healthy smile! I’m a strong advocate for preventive care and patient education. My goal is to provide exceptional dental care in a comfortable environment to help patients with their dental needs.”
Dr. Marino earned her undergraduate degree from Florida International University. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Dental Medicine in 2017. Prior to joining Punta Gorda Dental Care, Dr. Marino was Lead Dentist at a very busy practice in the area.
She is committed to bringing the very latest techniques and technology to her patients and completes continuing education each year to ensure she is up-to-date on current best practices. Dr. Marino has completed advanced training in Invisalign®, Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and implant technology. To further expand the services she can offer patients, Dr. Marino completed advanced training in facial aesthetics. She is board certified to administer cosmetic injectibles to her patients.
Dr. Marino was born in Cuba and relocated to Miami along with her family. During her time at school in Bradenton, she fell in love with the Gulf Coast and decided to make this area her home. She currently lives in Venice along with her husband, son, and their two dogs. When she is not treating patients, she enjoys reading, working out, and traveling.
Dr. Marino is passionate about giving back to the community and has volunteered at Florida Mission of Mercy, Remote Area Medical and Give Kids a Smile events.
Dr. Marino is fluent in English and Spanish. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Clear Aligners
Dr. Elizabeth Chavez, DDS
Before joining Punta Gorda Dental Care, Dr. Elizabeth Chavez had been in dentistry for several years, most recently at our sister practice Elite Dental Care in Naples, where she continues to practice.
Dr. Chavez graduated from Universidad Iberoamericana in the Dominican Republic as Doctor of Dental Surgery. She continued her studies at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine a two-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
Dr. Chavez approaches her patients with empathy and compassion, setting them at ease with kindness and humor. Skilled at patient communication, she enjoys connecting with her patients, guiding them through the treatment process, and watching their self-confidence improve along with their smiles. Her goal is to build relationships with her patients by demonstrating that they can trust her to put their best interests, and budgets, first when making treatment recommendations.
Dr. Chavez was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Cape Coral, FL. She has lived in Santo Domingo, Sarasota and New York City. She now lives in Cape Coral with Sparky, her 15-year-old Chihuahua.
In her free time, she stays active by taking walks and jogging. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She is community-oriented and participates in multiple free dentistry events.
